CDC integrates RAAST system with MK Securities for real-time investor fund transfers

August 08, 2025 (MLN): In a major step toward enhancing the efficiency of Pakistan’s capital markets, the Central Depository Company (CDC) has successfully integrated the RAAST instant payment system with Muhammad Munir Muhammad Ahmed Khanani Securities Limited, enabling seamless and real-time fund transfers for investors.

The integration was formalized during an agreement signing ceremony held at CDC House on Friday, August 8, 2025.

RAAST, Pakistan’s first instant payment system developed by the State Bank of Pakistan, enables real-time movement of funds between two parties.

CDC has built connectivity with the RAAST system and introduced its RAAST Aggregator Module for the brokerage industry, allowing secure and rapid transfer of investor funds directly from customer bank accounts to brokers’ segregated client accounts.

Each investor is issued a unique RAAST Investment ID, structured in IBAN format and linked to their CDC sub-account. This ID can be saved as a beneficiary in the investor’s online banking portal.

When funds are transferred using this ID, the amount is instantly debited from the investor’s bank account and credited to the broker’s account via CDC's RAAST Aggregator. The system ensures real-time availability of funds for trading purposes.

The integration has been implemented with the technical support of Microlinks (Pvt) Ltd, which provided the necessary infrastructure for seamless deployment. The system is now live and operational.

This initiative is aligned with broader efforts to digitize Pakistan’s capital market infrastructure by simplifying fund transfer processes and enhancing investor convenience.
