Beco Steel signs agreement for 2MW solar power project

September 09, 2025 (MLN): Beco Steel Limited (PSX: BECO) has entered into an agreement with a renewable energy solutions provider for the installation of a 2-megawatt (MW) solar power generation system at its plant premises in Badami Bagh, Lahore.

The total capital expenditure for the project is estimated at around Rs121 million, according to the company's statement issued today.

The system is expected to deliver annual energy cost savings of approximately Rs129.65m.

The company said the initiative will not only help in reducing cost of production and improving operational efficiency but will also contribute to environmental sustainability by lowering its carbon footprint.

BECO termed the project a key component of its long-term strategy aimed at promoting sustainable operations and maximizing shareholder value.
