Bank deposits increase to Rs35.4tr in November

December 11, 2025 (MLN): The total deposits held by scheduled banks have moved up by 0.7% to Rs35.38 trillion in November compared to Rs35.15tr by the end of last month.

When compared to the same month of last year, banks' deposits have risen by 13.6%, compared to Rs31.15tr held in November 2024, data released by the central bank showed.

Total advances increased by 1.1% to Rs13.42tr compared to Rs13.28tr a month ago. Meanwhile, advances decreased by 9.8% from their value of Rs14.87tr from a year ago.

As a result of weak momentum of deposits and strong inflow of advances, the Advances to Deposits Ratio (ADR) rose to 37.9%, an increase of 16 basis points on a monthly basis.

Meanwhile, when compared to a year ago, ADR showed a decrease of 982bps.

Total investments increased by 0.5% to Rs36.73tr from last month. Compared to last year, investments rose 26.5%.

Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved down by 16bps to 103.8% compared to last month and increased by 1062 bps when compared to a year ago.
