January 27, 2026 (MLN): Asia markets are rapidly cementing their place at the center of global capital flows, as strong IPO pipelines, rising cross-border investments and accelerating deal activity draw renewed attention.

Momentum across Asian equities has been striking, with activity spanning initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and secondary markets, according to CNBC.

Data from EY shows that IPO proceeds in the Asia-Pacific region more than doubled in 2025, with seven of the world’s 10 largest listings originating from the region.

Asia-Pacific also emerged as the largest global hub for IPO fundraising, recording a 106% jump in proceeds compared to 2024, while India retained its position as the most active listing destination by deal count.

Strong equity market performance has further fueled global interest. Several Asian benchmarks outperformed U.S. markets in 2025, setting the stage for continued inflows this year.

The MSCI AC Asia Pacific Index, which tracks more than 1,000 large- and mid-cap stocks across 13 markets, has climbed over 25% in 2025 and reached multiple record highs in early 2026.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi have also recently touched all-time highs.

Trading activity has surged in China, with daily turnover across the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing exchanges hitting record levels this month, prompting regulators to tighten margin financing rules..

China, India, Japan and South Korea are now firmly on the radar of global capital allocators, with technology emerging as a major draw.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix together make up more than 30% of South Korea’s Kospi index.

SK Hynix surged 274% in 2025 and has already gained about 20% this year, while Samsung Electronics jumped 125% last year and is up roughly 30% year-to-date.

While geopolitical risks remain, markets have shown resilience.

Recent U.S. tariff increases on South Korean autos, pharmaceuticals and lumber led to some stock-specific weakness, but the Kospi remained broadly stable.

Overall, renewed confidence, strong fundamentals and the region’s growing role in global technology and capital markets are positioning Asia as a key destination for investors in 2026 and beyond.
