6th review to be presented to IMF board on January 12

December 23, 2021 (MLN): The government of Pakistan is going to present the sixth review to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) board on January 12, 2022, Muzzammil Aslam, Spokesperson to the Finance Minister informed via his official Twitter handle.

To recall, Pakistan and IMFauthorities had reached a staff-level agreement on policies and reforms needed to complete the sixth review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) on November 22, 2021.

Completion of the review would make available SDR 750 million or about $1.059 billion, bringing total disbursements under the EFF to about $3,027 million and helping unlock significant funding from bilateral and multilateral partners.

The agreement was subject to approval by the IMF's Executive Board, following the implementation of prior actions, notably on fiscal and institutional reforms.
