6% output growth in LSMI in 11 months of FY-18

According to data released by PBS, The overall output of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) increased by 6% in July-May, 2017-18 as compared to July-May 2016-17.

The LSMI output increased by 2.76% for May 2018 compared to May 2017 and decreased by 11.63% if compared to April 2018.

The production in July-May 2017-18 as compared to July-May 2016-17 has been significantly increased in Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Coke & Petroleum Products, Pharmaceuticals, Non Metallic Mineral Products, Automobiles, Iron & Steel Products, Electronics and Paper & Board while decreased in Fertilizers and Leather Products.

As a result, overall Large Scale Manufacturing Sector has shown a growth of 6% during Jul-May 2017-18 when compared with the same period last year.
