500 kV double-circuit Neelum Jhelum transmission line to complete by January

The 145 km long 500 kV double-circuit Neelum Jhelum Transmission Line to evacuate 969 MW electricity from Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project will be ready by January.

This transmission line project is of national importance, being constructed on very difficult and mountainous terrains of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), which would be completed prior to commissioning of the Neelum Jhehlum Hydropower Plant.

According to official sources, National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has completed 49 distribution and transmission projects in all provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) during the last four years.

Giving the details of the projects, they said out of total 29 projects were completed in Punjab, 12 in Sindh, four in Balochistan, three in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and two in AJK.

The projects completed in Balochistan were included 220 kV GS Khuzdar (2x160MVA), 220 kV Lora Lai Substation (2×250 MVA), 220 kV DG Khan-Loralai transmission lines (227 km) and Extension of 220 kV Sibbi GS.

Similarly 29 projects were completed during the last four years and the projects were 500kV T/Line Guddu-Multan In/Out at 500kV D.G Khan Grid Station (2.5km), AIS Jhampir 220kV Substation (132kV Side), Jhampir -T.M.Khan 132kV Line (75km),  Tenaga Power Plant- 132kV Line (1.3km), Interconnection of Master Wind Power Plant 132kV Line (15km), Interconnection of Hydro China Dawood Power Plant 132kV Line (11.5km), 500kV T/Line Guddu-Multan In/Out at 500kV D.G Khan Grid Station (2.5km), Interconnection of 99.5 MW United Wind Energy 132kV Line 3.8km, 132kV Temporary G/S & T/Line for testing of 1320 MW Port Qasim Power Plant 40MVA, 2.68km, Interconnection of  50 MW Sachal Power Plant 132kV Line (1 km), 500 kV D/C Quad Bundle T/Line from Port Qasim Power Plant Hub-Jamshoro (Phase-I),  Augmentation of 3×160MVA at Hala Road 220 kV Grid Station, Shalamar 220kV Substation 3x160MVA, Bandala 220kV Substation  1×160+1X250 MVA, D.G. Khan 500kV Substation 2×600 MVA – 2×250 MVA, Okara 220kV Substation 3X250MVA, 220 kV Temporary Grid Station Ghazi Road Lahore  1x250MVA, Augmentation of 220/132 kV Bund Road, Lahore (1X250MVA) alongwith allied 132kV Line, T.T. Singh 220kV Substation, Augmentation of 220/132 kV, 160 MVA ATFs at 220 kV Grid Station Bahawalpur, Augmentation of 220/132 kV, 160 MVA ATF at 220 kV Grid Station Bund Road, Lahore, Addition of 600 MVA, 500/220 kV Auto T/F Bay at 500 kV GS Ghazi Barotha, Augmentation of 220/132 kV, 160 MVA ATF at 220 kV Grid Station Bahawalpur, Augmentation of 220/132 kV, 160 MVA ATF 220 kV Grid Station Bund Road, Lahore., Kassowal 220kV Substation 2x160MVA, Vehari-Chishtian 220kV Line (65 km), 220 kV T/Line from Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Grid to Bahawalpur G/Station (30 km) and extension work at existing 220kV G/S Bahawalpur Chashma-Bannu 220kV Line (126 km), 220 kV Line Bays at Chashma & Bannu Grid Stations (4×220 kV Line Bays), Chishtian 220 kV Substation 2x160MVA,  220 kV Line Bays at Vehari Grid Station,  Bhikki Line 500kV 2.6km, Sahiwal 500kV Line 5km,  Haveli Bahadur Shah 500kV Line (2 km),  Addition of  160MVA Transformer at T.T. Singh 220kV Substation,  Gujrat 220kV Substation (3x250MVA), Balloki – Lahore South 500kV Line,  Augmentation of 160 MVA TF at Ghazi Road 220kV GS (Temporary),  Augmentation of 250 MVA TF at Rawat 500/220 kV Grid Station,  Augmentation of  160MVA Transformer with 250MVA at Ludewala 220kV S/S and 500kV TL for Lahore South GS (Lot-1A) 13 km.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, projects completed were included 17 MW Ranolia HPP 132kV T/Line (1.5 km),

Augmentation of 2x160MVA Transformer with 2x250MVA at Burhan 220kV S/S, and Augmentation of 2x160MVA Transformer with 2x250MVA at Sheikh Muhammadi 500kV S/S.
