September 7, 2025 (MLN): Flood relief camps in District Sahiwal witnessed the distribution of 1,100 relief packages to affected families under the supervision of Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah.

The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), in collaboration with the Chef International, organized the distribution.

A total of 500 packages were handed out in Dad Baloch, while 300 each were provided in Chak Akbar Shah and Oranga Abad.

Each package contained essential food and household items worth PKR 25,000.

During the visit, the minister interacted with the flood victims and assured them that every possible measure would be taken to provide continuous assistance until their complete rehabilitation.

He also mentioned that medical treatment facilities were available for the affected families.

The government, he reaffirmed, would leave no stone unturned in ensuring the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected communities.

He emphasized that, on the special instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, relief packages are being distributed across the province to support flood victims.

He further stated that Pakistanis stand united with their fellow citizens in this difficult time. Highlighting the broader challenge, he observed that Pakistan remains one of the most climate-vulnerable regions of the world and stressed that the federal government is taking long-term measures to address the adverse impacts of climate change.

He assured that all government institutions are committed to providing care, dignity, and rehabilitation for the affected families.
