World Bank backs Pakistan’s plan to create a single platform for all government services

September 08, 2023 (MLN): The Digital Economy Enhancement Project will allow all government systems to be linked, allowing citizens to access all services from a single platform, this was revealed in a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank and the Federal Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Omar Saif held yesterday.

As per a press release issued, the meeting revolved around bilateral discussions and the implementation of the ambitious 'Digital Economy Enhancement Project.'

In the past few years, significant progress has been made in digitization at the provincial and federal levels. However, all systems are not interconnected.

For citizens, this will make obtaining online domiciles, birth certificates, NICs, vehicle registrations, and other services easier.

Additionally, the project will also be beneficial in increasing revenue through project taxes.

Secretary IT, Hasan Naseer Jami, and senior officials of the Ministry of IT were also present in the meeting.
