Weekly SCRA records net sale of Rs53.12m

March 02, 2024 (MLN): The net sale of securities for the week ended February 23, 2024 clocked in at Rs53.12m, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs1.49bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs2.3bn, which is around 44.32% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs2.25bn, which is 60.03% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net sale of Rs53.12m for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs3.38bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs1.83bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs744.89m, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.01bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.16bn, which marks a decline of Rs1.84m over the week.
