Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs591m

May 03, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended April 26, 2024 clocked in at Rs591.29 million, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs2.51bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs2.45bn, which is around 42.45% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs3.04bn, which is 55.07% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs591.29m for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs3.73bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs1.81bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.8bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.82bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs27.3bn, which marks a rise of Rs1.8bn over the week.
