Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs194m

October 06, 2023 (MLN): The gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs2 billion, which is around 77.82% lower than the figures recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.
Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs2.2bn, which is 74.9% lower than the prior week.
Consequently, the net purchase of securities for the week ended September 28, 2023 clocked in at Rs194 million, as compared to a net sale worth Rs278.34m recorded last week.
Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs6.55bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs7.02bn.
Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs529m, while its outflow has been reported at Rs3.36bn.
The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.98bn, which marks a decline of Rs2.59bn over the week.
