Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs18.47bn

August 01, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended July 26, 2024 clocked in at Rs18.47bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs7.9bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs27.36bn, which is around 161.52% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs45.83bn, which is 149.62% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs18.47bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs27.47bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs16.9bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs23.84bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs7.73bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs26.43bn, which marks a decline of Rs2.37bn over the week.
