Visa, Meezan Bank to launch the Financial Inclusion Card

October 27, 2024 (MLN): Visa has partnered with Meezan Bank to launch the Financial Inclusion Card to empower individuals and small businesses by providing them with easier access to financial services.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, expressed enthusiasm for this development during a meeting with Mr. Andrew Torre, Regional President for Visa on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. 

The Minister emphasized that this partnership aligns with the government’s objectives of promoting financial inclusion and supporting entrepreneurship within the country.

The Financial Inclusion Card is designed to cater to the unbanked and underbanked segments of the population, offering a range of benefits, including simplified payment processing and the ability to transact securely.

This initiative not only facilitates easier access to banking services but also fosters a more inclusive economy by integrating more individuals into the financial system.

Mr Aurangzeb commended Visa's commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s payment ecosystem and highlighted the importance of supporting domestic players like 1Link.

He noted that such partnerships are crucial for enhancing the country’s financial infrastructure.
