Trading activity at PMEX clocks in at Rs17.24bn

PMEX trading activity falls 13.6% to Rs18.8bn

May 24, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Tuesday clocked in at Rs17.24 billion while the number of lots traded stood at 13,700. 

The commodity exchange closed at 11,105, up by 0.56% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs8.61bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs2.38bn.

Silver also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.8bn. In addition, Nasdaq 100, Crude Oil and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors, and their transactions stood at around Rs1.62bn, Rs706m, and Rs1.16bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs172m, DJ at Rs217m, Copper at Rs171.3m, S&P 500 at Rs88.8m and Brent at Rs36m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 102.44 lots amounting to Rs45m changing hands.
