Suzuki Motors to establish another manufacturing plant in Pakistan

November 28, 2018 (MLN): A delegation of Suzuki Motors Corp has articulated its intention to construct another plant in Pakistan, to manufacture additional 100,000 vehicles per year.

Paying a visit to Prime Minister Imran Khan in his office yesterday, the staff briefed him about the existing investment of Suzuki Motors Corp and its future investment plans within the country.

The delegation included Mr. Osamu Suzuki, Global Chairman Suzuki , Mr. Kinji Saito, Mr. Masafumi Harano, Mr. Shigeo Takezawa, Mr. Yusuke Katto and Mr. Shafiq A Shaikh. Ambassador of Japan Mr. Takashi Kurai was also present during the meeting.

Khan, while appreciating the contribution of Suzuki Motors in the automobile sector, said that that the present Government is committed to private sector development, investment promotion, improving ease of doing business and growth of the manufacturing sector.

He assured the delegation of continued support from the Government, towards enhancing the existing business opportunities in the country.

Finance Minister Asad Umar, in his tweet, declared the day as “excellent, from a foreign investment perspective”, as he addressed the news of Global Chairman of Suzuki’s visit, and his desire to invest “$450 million to expand car production in Pakistan.”
