Supreme Court extends deadline for NAB by 6 weeks on remaining references

A two-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, has extended the period of accountability court Islamabad by six weeks to conclude remaining two references against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

NAB prosecutor informed the court that the accountability court has already given its judegment in Avenfield apartment case. He also apprised the bench of the progress in two other references.

He said 14 witnesses have recorded their statement in Flagship Investment reference while two are still remaining. In Al-Azizia Steel Mills case, 20 witnesses have been examined while JIT head Wajid Zia is about to complete his statement.

The Chief Justice directed the accountability judge that he should not be prejudiced while hearing two remaining references on account of his earlier judegment in Avenfield reference.
