January 18, 2023 (MLN): Supply bottlenecks have finally reflected the prices of the important construction material as the price of steel reached an all-time high of Rs243,500 per ton, witnessing a colossal surge of Rs2,000 per ton.

Within three weeks, the steel price has soared by Rs21,500 per ton.

Experts are of the view that the shortage of raw materials and restriction from the central bank due to the shortage of dollars has made the scenario bleak for this industry as well.

The government needs to resolve these issues on immediate basis otherwise the steel industry will continue to suffer.
