SSGC shuts down gas supply for 24 hours amid shortage crisis

August 09, 2024 (MLN): Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (PSX: SSGC) announced today that all industries, including their power generation units, and all CNG stations in Sindh (including those operating on RLNG) will remain closed for twenty-four hours.

The gas company cited shortages of gas supplies in its system, leading to decreased availability of gas and the depletion of the line pack, which is causing low pressures in the system.

This decision is made to manage the gas load effectively in alignment with the approved Sectoral Priority Order currently in force.

Gas Closure Begins	Sunday — August 11, 2024 — 08:00 am
Gas Closure Ends	Monday — August 12, 2024 — 08:00 am
Total duration of closure	24 hours

"SSGC will take strict action against any industry found violating this Gas Holiday Period and subsequently their gas supplies will be disconnected for at least seven (07) days, " the notice concludes.
