Smartphone assembly plan under Samsung Pakistan’s consideration: Hammad Azhar

Aug 21, 2020 (MLN): Smartphone production in Pakistan is multiplying following DIRBS implementation and Mobile Policy launched recently, said by Hammad Azhar.
After the meeting with MD and CEO of Samsung Pakistan, Minister for Industries and Production announced on his twitter handle that both appreciated DIRBS and Mobile Device Manufacturing policies. ‘They are now actively considering setting up a smartphone assembly plan in Pakistan’, he concluded.
Earlier, ECC approved Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy offering strong incentives to manufacture mobile phones & localize components in Pakistan while the DIRBS system was implemented last year to eliminate smuggled phones.
