Six consortiums pre-qualified for PIA privatization process

June 04, 2024 (MLN): The Privatization Commission Board after detailed deliberations has decided to pre-qualify six interested parties in the process of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) privatization.

The pre-qualified companies/consortiums include Fly Jinnah, Air Blue, Arif Habib Corporation, Y.B. Holdings Consortium, Pak Ethanol Consortium, and Blue World City Consortium.

According to a statement issued on Monday, a meeting of Privatization Commission Board was held on June 03, 2024, chaired by Minister for Privatization Abdul Allem Khan to review the recommendations of the pre-qualification committee in light of the results of the scrutiny/evaluation of Statement of Qualifications (SOQs) submitted by eight interested parties for divestment of PIA.

The pre-qualified interested parties will be invited to the next stage of bidding process to start buy-side due diligence.

Abdul Aleem Khan said that the system of post offices is being adapted to modern requirements and in the future, facilities for the public through the platform of postal services will be increased.

He further added that Pakistan Post has emerged as an active organization with facilities, while people's trust in this organization which is being restored with hard work, dedication, and best facilities.

To note, Y.B. Holdings Consortium members comprise Pioneer Cement Limited, Artistic Milliners Limited, ANS Capital Private Limited, and Metro Ventures Private Limited.

Pak Ethanol Consortium members comprise AirSial Limited, Serene Airlines Private Limited, and Liberty Daharki Power Limited.

Moreover, Blue World City Consortium members comprise Blue World Aviation, and IRIS Communication Limited.
