Sindh assembly passes Accountability Bill amidst opposition’s walkout

The Provincial Assembly of Sindh passed the Sindh Accountability Bill, 2017 on Wednesday with majority vote, while the opposition staged a walkout against the passage of the bill.

The Deputy Speaker presided over the sitting as the Speaker was not present. The parliamentary leaders of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) attended the sitting.

Senior Minister presented the report of the Standing Committee on Services, General Administration and Coordination on the Sindh Accountability Bill, 2017. The House passed the Sindh Accountability Bill, 2017 with majority vote.

Senior Minister laid the Annual Report of the Sindh Revenue Board for the year 2015-16 before the House. The opposition lawmakers staged a walkout against the passage of the Sindh Accountability Bill, 2017 and did not return to the House.
