SBP to develop practical solutions for Sukuk structure: Murtaza Syed

May 31, 2022 (MLN): In order to develop practical solutions for Sukuk structures, especially Asset Light Sukuk Structures, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is constituting a working group comprising SBP, SECP, MoF, PBA, Shariah Scholars and Centers of Excellence in Islamic Finance, Dr Murtaza Syed, Governor (A) said while speaking at World Islamic Finance Forum (WIFF) 2022.

Islamic banks are facing challenges due to irregular issuance of Sukuk. SBP is working with all stakeholders to ensure the regular availability of Sukuk, he added.

WIFF2022, the two-day forum was organized by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA)’s Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA CEIF) on May 30 and May 31, 2022.
