SBP sells T-bills worth Rs1.26tr

December 30, 2021 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an auction on Wednesday in which it sold Market Treasury Bills (MTBs) worth Rs1.26 trillion, against its target of Rs1.2tr.

Despite SBP’s enough injection of Rs1.07 trillion during the two 63-day Open Market Operations (OMO), the cut-off yields for 3 and 6 months saw a decline of 19 and 5 basis points to stand at 10.59% and 11.45%, respectively.

However, the yield for the 12-month paper remained the same at 11.51% from the previous auction on December 15.

The total amount raised for 3 months T-bills was Rs746 billion, Rs396bn for 6-months, and Rs122bn for 12 months MTBs.
