SBP reserves surge by $131m in a week

November 28, 2024 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $130.54 million or 1.16% WoW to $11.42 billion during the week ended on November 22, 2024, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $108.5m or 0.68% WoW to $16.08bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks fell by $22m or 0.47% WoW to $4.66bn.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $2.03bn or 21.61%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $3.2bn or 38.89%.
