CPI Preview: Inflation to fall to around 17% YoY in April

Sale of Urea down by around 41% YoY in June-21

July 27, 2021 (MLN): The overall urea offtake during the month of June 2021 was 690 thousand tonnes, depicting a decline of 40.7 percent as compared to the same period of last year.

As per the monthly report issued by National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the total urea offtake during the first three months of Kharif 2021 (April-June) was about 1,501 thousand tonnes, down by 9 percent over Kharif 2020.

The total urea availability during June 2021 was about 1,124 thousand tonnes, which comprised 612 thousand tonnes of the previous month's leftover and 512 thousand tonnes of domestic production. Urea offtake during June 2021 was 690 thousand tonnes. The closing balance works out to be 431 thousand tonnes, the report revealed.

Province-wise, the offtake of urea during June 2021 decreased by 53 and 29 percent in Sindh and KP, respectively. Similarly, its offtake decreased by 36 percent each in Punjab and Balochistan province.
