Sale of DAP declines by 48% YoY in October 2019

November 26, 2019: The total DAP offtake during the month of October 2019 was recorded at 271 thousand tonnes, i.e. lower by 48 percent as compared to the same month of last year.

According to the data compiled by National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the prices of DAP increased by around 0.5 percent during the aforesaid period.

The overall offtake of DAP decreased by 47, 61 and 33 percent in Punjab, Sindh, and KP respectively while it increased by 48 percent in Balochistan.

The total availability of DAP during October 2019 was 914 thousand tonnes, which include 378 thousand tonnes of stock of the previous month, 75 thousand tonnes of domestic production and 461 thousand tonnes of imported supply. DAP offtake was about 271 thousand tonnes. The closing balance worked out to be 643 thousand tonnes.

As per the details provided in the report by NFDC, the total availability of DAP during Rabi 2019-20 would be around 1556 thousand tonnes, which comprises 806 thousand tonnes of imported supply, 372 thousand tonnes of domestic production and 378 thousand tonnes of opening stock. The offtake of DAP would be 1392 thousand tonnes.

Furthermore, the situation regarding DAP looks satisfactory as other phosphate fertilizers like NP and SSP will also be available in the market.
