Rupali Polyester expands manufacturing capacity of Polyester Filament yarn

November 20, 2018 (MLN): Rupali Polyester Limited (RUPL) has announced in a recent statement issued to the Pakistan stock Exchange (PSX), that the company has expanded its manufacturing capacity for Polyester Filament Yarn.

In order to avail the subsequent benefits of the government’s support in terms of favorable policies, Regulatory Duty and Anti-dumping duty on imports; RUPL undertook a sizeable capex project last year, that has now come to fruition.

The notice divulged that the installation and commissioning of a brand new POY line of latest technology, has not only been successfully completed earlier this month, but has also been proceeded to the production stage.

Company Secretary Mr. Ghulam Shabbir Gilani proudly announced in the notice that, in addition to increasing the production capacity of Polyester Filament Yarn, the expansion will allow RUPL to produce a wider array of products demanded by the PFY consumers.

“This expansion will enable the local polyester manufacturing industry to meet more than 70% of the country’s total PFY demand,” he estimated.

The company believes that RUPL’s manufacturing capacity will double as a result of this expansion. “This addition in production capacity represents a 25% increase in the group’s total volume of PFY produced,” remarked Mr. Gilani.
