Rice exports on growing trend during July to Nov 2017

This is to inform all the members of press and electronic media that at the end of November 2017, rice exports for fiscal year 2017-18 (July to Nov 2017)a growth has been observed as compared to Last fiscal year 2016-17 (July to Nov 2016).

This statement was given by Rafique Suleman, Senior Vice Chairman, Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) while talking with media persons. He said that this year we exported Total 1.45 Million Metric Tons of rice amounting to US$. 696.957 Million, whereas in last fiscal year we had exported 1.25 Million Metric Tons of rice amounting to US$.528.325 Million, which shows over all a significant growth of 24% in values and 13.8% in quantity.

He said that since last year, we are working with Ministry of Commerce (MinCom) and Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and discussing the possibilities to uplift the country’s export trade which is the back bone of our economy. After taking some measures and with the efforts of Pakistani rice exporters, we are now confident that our rice export trade has shown rising trend.

He added that rice export community has been putting extra ordinary efforts for fetching valueable foreign exchange for our beloved country and making huge investment for installing world’s latest rice machinery and most modern technology for value addition in rice.
