RDA receives highest ever deposits of $290mn in March

April 01, 2022 (MLN): Roshan Digital Account (RDA) had one of its best months ever in March, with deposits of $290 million and 23,312 new accounts, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Friday.

Making an announcement on Twitter, SBP said, “Since its launch, RDA has gone from strength to strength, with total deposits surging to $3.92bn & 388,494 accounts opened from 175 countries.

Since the start of the RDA, a banking facility for Pakistani abroad, the government had made a number of decisions to make the scheme more attractive by reducing the tax compliance costs. Further, the government has made the taxation system easy, convenient, and hassle-free for NRPs to open and operate these accounts without being physically present in the country.
