RDA in May reaches to $6.22bn

June 20, 2023 (MLN): Total inflows into Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) during May 2023 stood at $121 million, bringing the total cumulative inflows into RDA to $6.22 billion.

However, according to data released by the SBP, the amount repatriated and locally utilized during the month was $118 million showing that the Net Repatriable Liability (NRL) of RDA increased by $3mn in May.

The amount repatriated during the month was $22mn while $96mn was utilized locally.

Total cumulative repatriation and local utilization stood at $5.09bn out of which $1.42bn has been repatriated while the locally utilized amount was $3.66bn making the NRL $1.13mn or 18.21% or Total RDA.

The breakup of the NRL shows $329mn was still invested in Conventional Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPC), $389mn was in Islamic NPC, Equity investment stood at $18mn, Balances in Accounts were $377mn while Other Liabilities stood at $20mn.

Total amount received during the current financial year was $1.61bn compared to $2.79bn in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Total repatriation and local utilization during the current financial year was $2.17bn compared to $2.18bn in the corresponding period last year.

During the month of May, 13,407 new accounts were opened taking the total number of accounts to 575,024.

The highest monthly inflow into RDA was recorded in June 2021 during which inflows of $310mn were received.

The highest monthly repatriation and local utilization from RDA was recorded in July 2022 during which NRL of RDA was reduced by $330mn.
