May 23, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 119,102.67, showing a decrease of 50.37 points or 0.04%.

The index traded in a range of 877.26 points, showing an intraday high of 119,542.51 (+389.47) and a low of 118,665.25 (-487.79) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 99.80 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 33 closed up, 62 closed down, while 5 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were POML (-7.25%), HUMNL (-4.69%), PABC (-4.02%), BNWM (-2.95%), and ISL (-1.90%).

On the other hand, top gainers were FCEPL (+5.92%), PKGP (+4.60%), ATRL (+3.48%), IBFL (+3.15%), and ENGROH (+3.08%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-54.53pts), MCB (-42.16pts), SYS (-34.69pts), MARI (-31.72pts), and PPL (-28.86pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were ENGROH (+175.89pts), ATRL (+30.84pts), PKGP (+27.47pts), MEBL (+24.76pts), and PSEL (+20.99pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-68.70pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-55.83pts), Technology & Communication (-50.39pts), Cement (-38.88pts), and Commercial Banks (-25.76pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+168.98pts), Refinery (+29.92pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+27.00pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+7.04pts), and Miscellaneous (+6.50pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 74,155.62 with a net gain of 7.82 points or 0.01%.

Total market volume was 337.99 million shares compared to 589.77m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs18.51 billion showing a decrease of Rs12.30bn.

There were 236,867 trades reported in 459 companies with 183 closing up, 232 closing down, and 44 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,658 points or 51.83% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 3,976 points or 3.45% so far this calendar year.
