April 24, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 115,019.81, showing a decrease of 2,206.33 points or 1.88%.

The index traded in a range of 1,906.93 points showing an intraday high of 116,568.13 (-658.01) and a low of 114,661.20 (-2,564.94) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 197.69 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 8 closed up, 91 closed down, 0 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top losers during the day were AGL (-6.39%), FCEPL (-6.13%), NML (-5.87%), PIBTL (-5.53%), and AIRLINK (-5.42%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PKGP (+9.73%), UPFL (+1.96%), PAKT (+1.69%), MUREB (+1.48%), and LUCK (+0.76%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-138.47pts), HUBC (-133.08pts), BAHL (-130.33pts), MARI (-121.16pts), and FFC (-116.80pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PKGP (+49.23pts), PAKT (+8.64pts), UPFL (+4.64pts), LCI (+4.42pts), and MUREB (+4.22pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-567.17pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-293.57pts), Fertilizer (-226.32pts), Cement (-206.62pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-159.76pts).

While the index was supported by Tobacco (+8.64pts), Synthetic & Rayon (+0.01pts), Woollen (-0.09pts), Close – End Mutual Fund (-0.09pts), and Leasing Companies (-0.13pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 72,123.91 with a net loss of 1,241.94 points or 1.69%.

Total market volume was 506.70 million shares compared to 605.18m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs24.49 billion showing a decrease of Rs3.27bn.

There were 303,423 trades reported in 453 companies with 83 closing up, 336 closing down, and 34 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,575 points or 46.62% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 107 points or 0.09% so far this calendar year.
