December 13, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 114,301.80, showing an increase of 121.30 points or 0.11%.
The index traded in a range of 2,563.19 points showing an intraday high of 115,172.44 (+991.94) and a low of 112,609.25 (-1,571.25) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 479.75 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 41 closed up, 58 closed down, while 1 was unchanged.
Top gainers during the day were TGL (+10.00%), MARI (+9.83%), MEHT (+9.53%), HCAR (+9.02%), and PSO (+6.99%).
On the other hand, top losers were AKBL (-6.35%), BAFL (-5.89%), MEBL (-5.57%), ABL (-5.22%), and BAHL (-4.95%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MARI (+573.24pts), FFC (+324.42pts), OGDC (+200.53pts), PSO (+163.62pts), and LUCK (+92.59pts).
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-249.21pts), MEBL (-196.63pts), BAHL (-163.25pts), HBL (-141.08pts), and BAFL (-110.30pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+790.48pts), Fertilizer (+221.56pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+137.93pts), Glass & Ceramics (+49.87pts), and Cement (+31.00pts).
While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-1055.13pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-59.10pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-52.68pts), Chemical (-24.28pts), and Insurance (-19.30pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 72,362.22 with a net gain of 349.85 points or 0.49%.
Total market volume was 1,118.57 million shares compared to 1,469.56m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs59.51 billion showing a decrease of Rs7.77bn.
There were 494,038 trades reported in 461 companies with 178 closing up, 251 closing down, and 32 remaining unchanged.
