PSX Closing Bell: Skinny Love

February 26, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 113,862.32, showing a decrease of 665.76 points or 0.58%.

The index traded in a range of 912.99 points showing an intraday high of 114,762.92 (+234.84) and a low of 113,849.93 (-678.15) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 333.21 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 37 closed up, 61 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PGLC (-9.33%), KTML (-4.29%), JVDC (-4.20%), EFUG (-4.15%), and AICL (-3.88%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PKGP (+8.95%), CNERGY (+7.85%), TGL (+6.59%), NATF (+5.15%), and GHGL (+5.09%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-132.18pts), OGDC (-93.34pts), PPL (-84.73pts), MARI (-58.79pts), and PSO (-47.53pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PKGP (+45.68pts), CNERGY (+30.01pts), ILP (+24.79pts), TGL (+24.41pts), and NBP (+23.68pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-273.82pts), Commercial Banks (-154.81pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-137.18pts), Fertilizer (-56.38pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-47.94pts).

While the index was supported by Glass & Ceramics (+41.82pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+22.74pts), Refinery (+18.91pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+14.72pts), and Transport (+10.71pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,589.56 with a net loss of 395.98 points or 0.56%.

Total market volume was 640.18 million shares compared to 495.98m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs22.74 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.62bn.

There were 265,286 trades reported in 445 companies with 125 closing up, 260 closing down, and 60 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,417 points or 45.15% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,265 points or 1.10% so far this calendar year.
