September 22, 2023 (MLN): The stock market continued its upward trajectory, building on the bullish momentum from the previous day with the benchmark KSE-100 index closing at 46,421.15, marking a gain of 219.03 points or 0.47% DoD.

Investors remained optimistic as they assessed the positive market sentiment, following the announcement of the general election date yesterday.

The breach of the 46,000-point barrier the previous day, along with a weekly close above it, shows a sign of the sustained upward trend in the market.

Moreover, during the week the KSE-100 index gained 667.63 points or 1.46%.

In today's trading session, the index traded in a range of 318.46 points showing an intraday high of 46,500.45 (+298.32) and a low of 46,181.99 (-20.14) points.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 94.48 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 62 closed up, 28 closed down, 3 were unchanged while 7 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution with 63.6, Commercial Banks with 48.15, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 47.98, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 17.03 and Pharmaceuticals with 14.88 points.

Companies adding points to the index were HUBC with 62.56, PPL with 32.36, FFC with 15.54, DAWH with 14.67 and UNITY with 12.9 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Technology & Communication with 22.1, Cement with 22.02, Automobile Assembler with 3.93, Miscellaneous with 3.91 and Insurance with 0.79 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were SYS with 13.31, ENGRO with 13.0, MTL with 12.62, NESTLE with 11.77 and TRG with 8.81 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 31,002.98 with a net gain of 149.73 points.

Total market volume was 172.894 million shares compared to 172.159 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 6.27 billion showing an increase of Rs.0.92 billion.

There was 103,610 trades reported in 319 companies with 195 closing up, 97 closing down and 27 remaining unchanged.
