October 21, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 86,057.51, showing an increase of 807.42 points or 0.95%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 86,172.79 (+922.70) and a low of 85,349.32 (+99.23) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 240.44 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 76 closed up, 19 closed down, 4 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top gainers during the day were KOSM (+12.98%), YOUW (+10.72%), PSX (+10.02%), ATRL (+10.00%), and PKGS (+8.19%).

On the other hand, top losers were EFUG (-4.04%), PAKT (-3.09%), SRVI (-1.87%), INDU (-1.55%), and JDWS (-1.47%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MTL (+77.68pts), UBL (+61.04pts), ATRL (+53.08pts), HUBC (+42.93pts), and PIOC (+38.82pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were POL (-25.99pts), SRVI (-16.36pts), PAKT (-15.01pts), INDU (-13.07pts), and DAWH (-12.05pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+132.19pts), Commercial Banks (+107.16pts), Automobile Assembler (+103.42pts), Fertilizer (+83.74pts), and Refinery (+59.90pts).

While the index was let down by Leather & Tanneries (-16.36pts), Tobacco (-15.01pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (-2.42pts), Synthetic & Rayon (-1.87pts), and Engineering (-1.51pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 55,449.98 with a net gain of 522.74 points or 0.95%.

Total market volume was 474.95 million shares compared to 323.92m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs19.66 billion showing an increase of Rs3.98bn.

There were 246,289 trades reported in 443 companies with 268 closing up, 123 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 7,613 points or 9.70% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 23,606 points, equivalent to 37.80%.
