January 29, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 111,487.36, showing a decrease of 543.00 points or 0.48%.

The index traded in a range of 1,412.71 points showing an intraday high of 112,569.89 (+539.53) and a low of 111,157.18 (-873.18) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 201.92 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 28 closed up, 69 closed down, 2 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top losers during the day were POML (-4.02%), PTC (-3.87%), HGFA (-3.74%), ISL (-3.67%), and MUGHAL (-3.29%).

On the other hand, top gainers were MARI (+5.14%), PGLC (+4.05%), CNERGY (+2.31%), ABL (+2.22%), and KEL (+2.00%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-262.40pts), EFERT (-58.24pts), PSO (-53.62pts), MCB (-53.38pts), and HUBC (-48.88pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were MARI (+208.38pts), ENGROH (+25.92pts), NBP (+19.32pts), INDU (+17.99pts), and UBL (+14.44pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-326.05pts), Commercial Banks (-121.63pts), Cement (-87.64pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-71.95pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (-45.50pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+201.94pts), Automobile Assembler (+17.93pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+17.03pts), Miscellaneous (+8.88pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (+3.43pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 69,018.85 with a net loss of 160.57 points or 0.23%.

Total market volume was 449.24 million shares compared to 517.80m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs28.19 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.02bn.

There were 296,947 trades reported in 447 companies with 138 closing up, 246 closing down, and 63 remaining unchanged.
