November 12, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 93,224.56, showing a decrease of 423.76 points or 0.45%.

The index traded in a range of 978.50 points showing an intraday high of 93,871.61 (+223.29) and a low of 92,893.11 (-755.21) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 408.48 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 28 closed up, 69 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were MUGHAL (-6.83%), HGFA (-5.06%), KOSM (-4.17%), SRVI (-3.80%), and FCCL (-3.74%).

On the other hand, top gainers were AVN (+7.15%), BNWM (+7.00%), MARI (+3.82%), KEL (+3.01%), and GLAXO (+2.82%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were PPL (-65.07pts), OGDC (-61.98pts), ENGRO (-58.02pts), SYS (-44.70pts), and HBL (-37.26pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were MARI (+122.70pts), GLAXO (+18.40pts), FFC (+17.55pts), SNGP (+16.73pts), and AVN (+15.45pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Cement (-74.24pts), Commercial Banks (-71.77pts), Fertilizer (-51.45pts), Technology & Communication (-38.93pts), and Automobile Assembler (-35.29pts).

While the index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+7.33pts), Insurance (+5.10pts), Refinery (+4.90pts), Tobacco (+2.62pts), and Woollen (+0.42pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 59,708.17 with a net loss of 119.90 points or 0.20%.

Total market volume was 792.90 million shares compared to 815.19m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs30.79 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.54bn.

There were 352,471 trades reported in 454 companies with 151 closing up, 242 closing down, and 61 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 14,780 points or 18.84% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 30,774 points or 49.28% so far this calendar year.
