September 23, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 81,850.50, showing a decrease of 223.94 points or 0.27%.

The index traded in a range of 914.41 points showing an intraday high of 82,463.05 (+388.61) and a low of 81,548.64 (-525.80) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 163.00 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 29 closed up, 67 closed down, 3 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top losers during the day were NCPL (-9.84%), NPL (-7.67%), PGLC (-7.20%), MARI (-5.98%), and HUBC (-5.81%).

On the other hand, top gainers were FFC (+7.00%), SCBPL (+6.36%), EFUG (+5.26%), SHFA (+4.11%), and PTC (+3.61%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were HUBC (-261.78pts), MARI (-209.60pts), PPL (-71.74pts), OGDC (-55.92pts), and BAFL (-35.35pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were FFC (+311.62pts), UBL (+150.13pts), EFERT (+100.47pts), BAHL (+60.14pts), and SCBPL (+23.10pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-323.56pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-322.17pts), Cement (-76.65pts), Chemical (-17.89pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (-17.70pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+434.43pts), Commercial Banks (+189.45pts), Insurance (+7.84pts), Miscellaneous (+5.83pts), and Refinery (+3.08pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,216.25 with a net loss of 72.60 points or 0.14%.

Total market volume was 400.31 million shares compared to 482.37m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs18.69 billion showing a decrease of Rs11.50bn.

There were 238,765 trades reported in 439 companies with 143 closing up, 237 closing down, and 59 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 3,406 points or 4.34% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 19,399 points, equivalent to 31.06%.
