September 24, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 81,483.64, showing a decrease of 366.86 points or 0.45%.

The index traded in a range of 902.71 points showing an intraday high of 82,010.09 (+159.59) and a low of 81,107.38 (-743.12) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 148.62 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 31 closed up, 65 closed down, while 4 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were NCPL (-9.81%), KTML (-5.07%), HUBC (-4.24%), HGFA (-4.10%), and SRVI (-3.15%).

On the other hand, top gainers were BNWM (+6.14%), FFBL (+5.58%), FFC (+4.04%), GLAXO (+3.93%), and DCR (+2.50%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were HUBC (-180.00pts), EFERT (-74.05pts), MCB (-66.14pts), PPL (-41.71pts), and BAFL (-39.94pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were FFC (+192.38pts), UBL (+113.09pts), FFBL (+37.42pts), OGDC (+24.42pts), and GLAXO (+14.75pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution (-226.36pts), Commercial Banks (-51.36pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-44.59pts), Cement (-33.88pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (-30.89pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+135.47pts), Pharmaceuticals (+15.87pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+7.55pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (+6.59pts), and Glass & Ceramics (+2.48pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,112.10 with a net loss of 104.15 points or 0.20%.

Total market volume was 369.62 million shares compared to 400.31m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs17.06 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.63bn.

There were 202,539 trades reported in 427 companies with 127 closing up, 246 closing down, and 54 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 3,039 points or 3.87% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 19,033 points, equivalent to 30.48%.
