September 20, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index spent most of today's session hovering around the crucial 46,000 level.

However, this level once again proved to be a strong resistance and the index was not able to sustain it, as the rally sold off in the later part of the day to close the session at 45,889.58, recording a decrease of 20.89 points or 0.05%.

The index traded in a range of 226.99 points showing an intraday high of 46,035.09 (+124.62) and a low of 45,808.1 (-102.37) points.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 46.255 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 36 closed up, 54 closed down, 3 were unchanged while 7 remained untraded.

Interestingly, the top contributors that had driven gains in the previous session turned into today's losers.

This indicates a waned market sentiment and confidence, as investors chose to fade the rally.
