November 14, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed above 94,000 for the first time to notch its 52nd record this year.
The gauge concluded at 94,191.89, showing an increase of 836.47 points or 0.90%.
The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 94,289.97 (+934.55) and a low of 93,672.72 (+317.30) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 255.61 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 62 closed up, 36 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.
Top gainers during the day were TRG (+10.00%), EFUG (+10.00%), ATRL (+7.41%), MEHT (+7.10%), and NRL (+4.50%).
On the other hand, top losers were BNWM (-4.55%), KEL (-3.37%), POML (-2.89%), ABOT (-2.53%), and GLAXO (-2.36%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+121.68pts), OGDC (+100.22pts), HBL (+98.99pts), MCB (+68.62pts), and TRG (+66.27pts).
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS (-40.32pts), FFC (-30.08pts), ABOT (-17.77pts), GLAXO (-15.85pts), and SEARL (-15.49pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+404.92pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+167.71pts), Refinery (+61.31pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+49.45pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+46.47pts).
While the index was let down by Pharmaceuticals (-60.20pts), Fertilizer (-36.06pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-11.40pts), Tobacco (-6.85pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (-5.66pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 60,306.56 with a net gain of 497.05 points or 0.83%.
Total market volume was 1,084.34 million shares compared to 807.07m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs32.68 billion showing an increase of Rs0.99bn.
There were 379,367 trades reported in 464 companies with 260 closing up, 148 closing down, and 56 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 15,747 points or 20.07% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 31,741 points or 50.83% so far this calendar year.
