April 22, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index closed Monday's trading session at 71,433.46 showing an increase of 523.56 points or 0.74%.
The index traded in a range of 978.73 points showing an intraday high of 71,861.18 (+951.28) and a low of 70,882.45 (-27.46) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 360.536 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 63 closed up, 33 closed down, 4 were unchanged, while 0 remained untraded.
KSE-100 index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 146.51, Commercial Banks with 122.68, Fertilizer with 116.93, Cement with 106, and Technology & Communication with 64.89 points.
On the contrary, the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution with 39.07, Refinery with 28.48, Tobacco with 11.02, Insurance with 9.91, and Chemical with 8.77 points.
Companies adding points to the index were MARI with 111.46, UBL with 78.76, EFERT with 74.64, LUCK with 48.79, and OGDC with 37.35 points.
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were HUBC with 23.44, BAHL with 18.01, EPCL with 15.22, KEL with 12.96 and NRL with 12.22 points.
In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 46,964.65 with a net gain of 417.42 points.
Total market volume was 655.205 million shares compared to 475.834 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs31.25 billion showing an increase of Rs8.02bn.
There were 280,885 trades reported in 386 companies with 216 closing up, 138 closing down and 32 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 29,981 points or 72.33% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 8,982 points, equivalent to 14.38%.
