December 13, 2021 (MLN): The capital market endured selling pressure throughout the day as the investors remained cautious over the upcoming announcement of MPC due on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the benchmark KSE100 index slumped by 519.41 points or 1.20 percent to close at 42,876.37.

The index traded in a range of 674.79 points or 1.55 percent of the previous close, registering an intraday high of 43,478.62 and a low of 42,803.83.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index, 14 closed up 76 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 71.27 million shares.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by technology & communication with 147 points, oil & gas exploration companies with 88 points, commercial banks with 72 points, food & personal care products with 39 points and cement with 28 points.

The most points taken off the index was by TRG which stripped the index of 75 points followed by SYS with 61 points, PPL with 38 points, UBL with 34 points, and OGDC with 34 points.

Sectors propping up the index were fertilizer with 9 points, tobacco with 9 points, and glass & ceramics with 2 points.

The most points added to the index was by BAHL which contributed 20 points followed by EFERT with 18 points, HMB with 14 points, PAKT with 9 points, and SCBPL with 9 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 28.78 million to 150.39 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs87.21 billion.

Total companies traded were 331 compared to 324 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 65 closed up, 250 closed down while 16 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 17,952 to 68,091.

Value Traded decreased by 1.47 billion to Rs5.26 billion
