July 11, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 79,992.35, showing an increase of 150.80 points or 0.19%.

The index traded in a range of 405.85 points showing an intraday high of 80,114.72 (+273.17) and a low of 79,708.87 (-132.68) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 154.20 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 38 closed up, 60 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

KSE-100 index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+161.11pts), Fertilizer (+90.85pts), Technology & Communication (+60.77pts), Textile Composite (+9.77pts), and Paper & Board (+6.14pts).

On the flip-side, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-46.66pts), Cement (-41.55pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-19.49pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-17.21pts), and Commercial Banks (-14.34pts).

Companies that added points to the index were HUBC (+165.70pts), FFC (+77.74pts), SYS (+72.77pts), HBL (+37.17pts), and NBP (+23.99pts).

On the other hand, companies that dragged the index lower were PPL (-31.90pts), UBL (-28.53pts), MCB (-27.07pts), PSO (-18.09pts), and MEBL (-16.68pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 51,057.95 with a net gain of 56.57 points or 0.11%.

Total market volume was 389.02 million shares compared to 495.91m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs20.92 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.19bn.

There were 242,965 trades reported in 444 companies with 180 closing up, 212 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 1,547 points or 1.97% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 17,541 points, equivalent to 28.09%.
