PSX Closing Bell: Fearless

March 13, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 115,094.23, showing an increase of 1,009.70 points or 0.89%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 115,247.39 (+1,162.86) and a low of 114,429.93 (+345.40) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 210.93 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 68 closed up, 29 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PKGP (+7.90%), DGKC (+4.57%), PSO (+4.56%), HGFA (+3.81%), and TRG (+3.37%).

On the other hand, top losers were SRVI (-2.55%), DCR (-1.45%), BIPL (-1.44%), PIBTL (-1.05%), and COLG (-0.91%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+143.16pts), PSO (+120.79pts), LUCK (+116.38pts), ENGROH (+70.35pts), and MARI (+56.38pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SRVI (-25.03pts), POL (-16.25pts), BAFL (-14.64pts), COLG (-10.68pts), and INDU (-6.76pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+276.79pts), Fertilizer (+177.55pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+150.82pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+103.32pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+73.18pts).

While the index was let down by Leather & Tanneries (-25.03pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-6.55pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-4.39pts), Transport (-2.63pts), and Engineering (-2.38pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,378.75 with a net gain of 426.28 points or 0.60%.

Total market volume was 382.79 million shares compared to 299.63m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs25.41 billion showing an increase of Rs5.15bn.

There were 222,937 trades reported in 444 companies with 232 closing up, 156 closing down, and 56 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,649 points or 46.72% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 33 points or 0.03% so far this calendar year.
