September 26, 2023 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained rangebound throughout today’s session amid a lack of positive triggers.

KSE-100 index, the key benchmark for PSX, closed Tuesday's trading session at 46,277.65 with a decline of 116.02 points or 0.25% DoD.

During the session, the index traded in a range of 244.86 points showing an intraday high of 46,503.82 (+110.14) and a low of 46,258.96 (-134.72) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 95.627 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 42 closed up, 52 closed down, 3 were unchanged, while 3 remained untraded.

KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 41.49, Commercial Banks with 32.86, Technology & Communication with 26.04, Fertilizer with 25.69, and Chemical with 15.07 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were HBL with 37.15, PPL with 23.13, SYS with 20.11, ENGRO with 14.09 and MEBL with 14.08 points.

KSE-100 index was supported by Refinery with 20.81, Food & Personal Care Products with 20.57, Tobacco with 13.43, Cement with 10.3, and Insurance with 9.59 points.

Companies adding points to the index were NESTLE with 24.87, MCB with 15.68, ATRL with 13.69, PAKT with 13.43, and LUCK with 9.78 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 31,124.50 with a net gain of 41.69 points.

Total market volume was 259.047 million shares compared to 195.675 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs6.69 billion showing an increase of Rs1.16bn.

There were 114,412 trades reported in 327 companies with 142 closing up, 164 closing down and 21 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 4,825 points or 11.64% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 5,857 points, equivalent to 14.49% in the KSE-100.
