PSX Closing Bell: Bulls in full charge

July 21, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index soared to a 15-month high during today's trading session, as the market remained bullish throughout the session, ending the day at 45,920.73 points, up by 522.42pts or 1.15% from yesterday.

The week saw a strong rally with the KSE-100 index adding a total of 852.75pts during the week.

The index traded in a range of 730.61 points showing an intraday high of 46,122.16 and a low of 45,391.55.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 205.835 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 56 closed up, 30 closed down, 5 were unchanged while 9 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 343.64, Chemical with 59.25, Technology & Communication with 33.57, Food & Personal Care Products with 32.1 and Cement with 26.48 points.

Companies adding points to the index were UBL with 90.06, COLG with 61.16, MEBL with 57.08, MCB with 47.9 and BAFL with 47.27 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 10.4, Pharmaceuticals with 10.09, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 5.79, Fertilizer with 3.3 and Textile Composite with 3.14 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were PPL with 19.94, OGDC with 10.36, ENGRO with 10.22, ABOT with 4.5 and PSO with 3.63 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 30,731.24 with a net gain of 313.07 points.

Total market volume was 504.55 million shares compared to 464.226 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 12.01 billion showing an increase of Rs.1.91 billion.

There was 154,162 trades reported in 338 companies with 197 closing up, 120 closing down and 21 remaining unchanged.
