April 17, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 116,901.13, showing an increase of 881.03 points or 0.76%.

The index traded in a range of 1,397.95 points, showing an intraday high of 117,216.02 (+1,195.92) and a low of 115,818.07 (-202.03) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 221.69 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 53 closed up, 42 closed down, 4 were unchanged, while 1 remained untraded.

Top gainers during the day were PGLC (+10.00%), POML (+8.51%), MLCF (+6.27%), SAZEW (+5.34%), and NBP (+5.17%).

On the other hand, top losers were PSX (-3.15%), AGL (-2.21%), BNWM (-1.97%), TPLRF1 (-1.92%), and ILP (-1.45%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+231.70pts), PSO (+83.74pts), NBP (+70.63pts), MARI (+69.18pts), and MLCF (+59.27pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-39.11pts), FFC (-37.76pts), EFERT (-23.20pts), PSX (-14.44pts), and INDU (-10.42pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+321.17pts), Cement (+176.12pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+159.33pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+116.70pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+56.51pts).

While the index was let down by Fertilizer (-60.34pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-53.55pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-8.83pts), Glass & Ceramics (-8.29pts), and Engineering (-2.51pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 73,027.16 with a net gain of 521.61 points or 0.72%.

Total market volume was 408.07 million shares compared to 481.81m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs32.13 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.41bn.

There were 266,650 trades reported in 444 companies with 211 closing up, 172 closing down, and 61 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 38,456 points or 49.02% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 1,774 points or 1.54% so far this calendar year.
